Jean-Paul Desroches deeply studied T'ang Haywen's work and collaborated with him, as evidenced in the publication The Dream of Ximei, a story book for children with T'ang's illustration.

During his tenure as Chief Curator at the Guimet Museum in Paris, Desroches co-curated a major retrospective exhibition titled Paths of Ink, which showcased T'ang's work in one of Europe's most prestigious institutions for Asian art.

In addition to curating, Desroches authored numerous articles about T'ang, further illuminating the artist's unique fusion of traditional Chinese ink techniques with modern abstraction and his contributions to cross-cultural artistic dialogue.
