Marc Alyn

Marc Alyn was introduced to T'ang Haywen in 1960 by their mutual friend, Raymond Audy. Alyn was deeply inspired by T'ang's art, particularly his abstract ink paintings, which he saw as a profound expression of nature and spirituality. In his 2018 memoirs, Time is a Falcon that Dives (Le temps est un faucon qui plonge), Alyn dedicated a chapter to T'ang, “Chinese Venice and the fantastical lagoons of T’ang Haywen.”

In March 2019, Alyn published a collection of poems titled T'ang l'obscur, Mémorial de l'Encre (T'ang the Obscure, Memorial of Ink), a heartfelt homage to T'ang Haywen. The book was illustrated with T'ang's works, further highlighting the deep connection between Alyn's poetry and T'ang's art.

Marc Alyn's work continues to be celebrated for its lyrical beauty and intellectual depth. His collaboration with T'ang Haywen stands as a testament to the powerful interplay between poetry and visual art, as well as the enduring friendship between two creative minds.
